Oscar Tanaka, Ph.D.

Dr. Tanaka is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned his M.A./Ph.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1995. He received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in 1989. He completed his predoctoral internship at the University of Miami School of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Tanaka grew up in Lima, Peru, and is a native Spanish speaker who offers bilingual psychological services for children, adolescents, and their families.

In his private practice, Dr. Tanaka specializes in the area of psychoeducational testing. The purpose of psychoeducational testing is to help identify strengths and weaknesses in learning, evaluate the presence of any learning disabilities affecting school performance, and assessing the appropriateness or need for accommodations or modifications in a student's educational curriculum. He also offers psychotherapy and evaluation services for children, adolescents, and families in a variety of areas including anxiety, depression, AD/HD, and parenting skills training.
