Dr. Carli Reis received her Ph.D. in Clinical psychology and her M.Ed. in school psychology from the University of Virginia. She completed her predoctoral internship with Emory University School of Medicine and spent time between Children’s Health Care of Atlanta (CHOA) and an adult outpatient psychiatry clinic during her postdoctoral fellowship with Emory. Since her licensure, Dr. Reis has served off and on as an adjunct faculty member at Emory School of Medicine, helping to co-facilitate a seminar on Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for child psychiatry fellows and providing individual supervision to psychiatry residents and psychology students. Professionally, Dr. Reis has the joy of seeing clients in her private practice and using her educational psychology background in a school setting as the Consulting Psychologist at the Trinity School.
In her private practice, Dr. Reis offers individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, parenting consultation, family therapy, and psychoeducational evaluations. She believes that research should inform the interventions, so Dr. Reis uses evidence-based practices as much as possible in her work. She has a passion for helping parents and caretakers navigate the difficulties of raising children, and strives to equip parents with tools to help their children outside of the therapy office. She has been trained in several evidence based approaches for parents, including:
-SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions)
-PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy – A treatment for young children with behavioral issues)
-Positive Discipline (Using Firmness with Dignity and Respect for both Parents and Children)
